Editor Garland Globe: Please give space in your valuable paper for the following: I To the Public. What has become of the Rhodes' case 7 Saturday, Nov. 16th, Jack Rhodes and Indian Broom were arrested by Marshal Snook and the case came before Justice Vanfleet Monday rjor. 18, for trial. Rhodes was bound over to the District under $500 bonds and bondsmen were pre sent ready to sign the bonds. A sud den change took place, Rhodes bro ther showed up and requested the Justice to give hlma private Inter view. The Justice dismissed the court and granted his request. Im mediately after the private consult ation, the Justice ordered the Mar shal to summon his witnesses for a new trial. After the second hearing the Justice took the case under ad vluement until ten a. m. Nov. 19th, and on that date decided to hold Rhodes under bonds, but later chang ed his mind and wanted one day ot grace to think the matter over. Nov. 20, the justice was unable to come to a decision and the case rested another day. On Nov. 22, Justice Vanfleet al lowed Rhodes to go on his own recog nition. Now the evidence was strong en ough to bind Rhodes over to said court, prior to the private consulta tion and It certainly appears to me that the almighty dollar had some thing to do In this particular case. How much was there In It Mr. Jus-, tlce? I believe the cltlxens of Oarland and the Town Board 'would be justifi ed In requesting said justice to hand In his checks, resign his position and give place for a competent man to fill the vacancy. And poor Doctor, how he did object to taking his own med icine.
