BEDDING MATTRESSES SPRINGS WEEKLY MARKET LETTER. Comments on tho Local Situation by Kenneth Donnellan S Co. The majority "f the stocks showed a slight falling off during holiday week, hut not so much as was generally ex pected by the public. Trading was live ly in some of the stocks, warranted by the continued improvement in tbe prop erties. Sensational strikes were rejsirt ed from several districts north and south of tioldtield, demonstrating that this wonderful mineral licit has not yet shown its full length and breadth. Work continues steadily on the Sand storm and the ore maintains its value as depth is acquired. The drift on the •V)-fiHit level of t.be shaft is in about L’S feet. It is estimated that the drill will be run about ikt hs'l before striking the ledges iijMin which the surface work is being done. Owing to a delay caused by tin* railroad company, the first ship ment of ore did not reach the sampling works in sufficient time to enable us to get the result for this letter, but we will give them next week. Tbe stock is in demand and what is offered is being rapidly absorbed. Tbe rumored strike on the Quartzite has iiecn confirmed and assays made across tbe 4-foot ledge show an average of $;;iH. It is also stated that gray cop per has been encountered in this mine and if such is the ease, it will be of un told value to the future of this district. The discovery was made close to the Black Butte property. The strike has made an increased demand for both stocks. As an item of interest ami one show thecontinued improvement in the prop erties, the Combination will pay another dividend of $32,000 on the 31st inst., it is also said that dividends of a like amount will he paid monthly instead of quarterly, and that $32,000 will be put into a sinking fund until it reaches $100,000. This being a corporation none of the stock is for sale, but it demon strates what may expected of other properties in the district. The leasers on the January of the (ioldtield Mining company property, are working as rapidly as possible as their lease expires on the 5th of January. The ground is looking better every day. The stis'k suffered some during the week owing to profit-taking, but it is one of the best buys in the market even at a much higher price than at present quoted. A report of a strike on the Blue Bull and the building of a high fence around the Simnierone, calls attention again to that section of the district. It is one which will bear watching and good mines should soon be opened up there. Vernal, Adams, Diamondfield, Black Butte and Bed Top arc in good demand.
