At 1 o'clock this afternoon the south
Washington swimming pool opened for
tho season. Chris Klygare. commis
sioner of parks this morning prepared
everything for the big rush and the
cool water g now awaiting.
Hour for th boys each day will be
from 1 o'clock to 4 o'clock. The girls
will have the pool from 4 o'clock to
7 o'clock, and from 7 to 10 the adults
will bo permitted to solash around.
The pool will be closed on Sundays. j
A lady attendant will be on hand at
nil times during the irls turn at the
pool and a man attendant will keep
careful guard over the boys. Mr Fly
gare said thl.s afternoon that the pool.i
bath houses and all fixtures are In
first class shape and awaiting the
swimmers. Let's go.

Mrs. Lillian Broadbent Turner, wife
'of George A. Turner, died at the hoe
pltal at Soda Springs, Idaho. Wed
nesday morning She was 27 years
Old
She was the daughter of Mr and
Mrs E. J. Broadbent of this city and I
was a member of the L, D. S.
church, having acted as secretary
of the L. D. S. mission in Japan and
as a Sunday school teacher in the I
Sixth ward She was also first j
counsellor in the Relief society at
Grace, Ida., where she resided.
Before her marriage ?.Irs Turner
was head cashier for W H. Wright
& Sons' company.
Surviving are Mr. Turner, a baby
daughter, her father and mother and
these brothers and sisters, Orson L., I
Lel&nd F., E. Ardon. William H and j
Lorin Broadbent and Mrs. Portia '

The couple are well known in

moon trip to Portland and the north
