The hunter was stalking a buck
when he saw the eagle. The bird wat
swooping toward the willow clump

self. Although he knew thai echoes
from a shot would reverberate through :
the canyons and hills in which he
was hunting and would alarm all the
game within a radius of many miles,
the hunter shot the eagle.

Hundreds of Weber county
farmers arc reaping benefits of
an exceptionally fine beet crop,
but one Individual, said to be a
resident of Ogden valle, suffered
j 'tough" luck, it is reported.
Tho grower planted a good
sized field of beets l&ftt spring,
i alt cost him on the average of $12 j
' pt r acre for his seed and labor.
Th beets did not attain any I
greater size than that of a healthy
carrot.
Summer came and went and
the firmer had to neglect his
other crops to a certain extent to
weed beets. I
Pall came, w ith arcompanj intr
rain. Labor was scarce and the
grower had trouble in getting his
beet from the ground. Finally
he bad them all dug and topped
The roads were almost impuss
able and he could not get his
iu:s hauled. Finally he made
a deal with a neighbor tendering
half of his leei crop in payment
for the hauling f the beets.
After he had completed his
deal in sugar beets ho managed
to break even on his beet crop
by selling L'OO bushels of 4vh-at lit
I per bushel.
