Included In these Imports are $271,039 worth of precious stones and jewelr Im ports of dry goods for consumption totalled $1,389,257, silk entries being appraised at $470,726. The week be fore these entries were valued at $2, 496 490 and at $2 273,775 in the cor responding veek la?it vear. Significant as reflecting the paraly sis of shipping following the outbreak of the European war Is the fact that the dry goods entries here the week of August 16 were less by $1,107,233 than In the preceding week. While climbing about an abandoned water wheel on the Jordan river bank between Ninth and Tenth South streets. Gordan Schoher, 12 years of ago, met death yesterday when he was caught be tween the mammoth wheel and its base and his life was crushed out The body was extricated by the po lice, called by a playmate of the un fortunate boy, and removed in the police ambulance to the family home, 1403 Wasatch avenue.
