W. WHEELER, HU Administrator. , HI Choz & Stine, Attorneys for Admin- IHi istrator. Hj bodies of baseball has anything to say rHI on the question and that It is already H settled. H He maintained that thero is nothing Hfl in tho ml ob which makes it necessary H for the Pacific Coast International to MHjj apply to anyone in ordor to. gain per- mHI mission to call the league anything the njGR owners please, as long as there Is no real duplication. m The judge is not a man inclined to wager, or he would bo willing to make RotI a little bet with Al Baum that when Mn tho season opens tho Portland, Scattlo W and other clubs in the circuit will bo HI playing under the name of tho Pacific HHI Coast International league, irrespective HI of what the California magnates think HI about it HI Thero is another point in which tho HI Portland baseball mogul gave out a H little Information. At tho time of the Hi' annual mooting at Seattle it was given 1H out that the circuit would seek a class. Hi A rating at once and that a request for Hf it had already been made. This is en- Hi to his testimony. He says it has not R91 been settled yet and that any change H In the rating might not bo asked for Hj until after the war has been settled. HJ There aro a great many people who 3HI ought to know who claim that the for- tor off financially had it remained a H class A organization rather than go H into tho AA class. The Increased rnt- IHI Ing looks flno. It is admitted that it H merely Increased salaries and other U running expenses without raising the H standard of play to any appreciable ! extent It Is likely that this would be (W tho same experience In the Pacific In- Mj tornational. Undoubtedly It would bo jfflflj bottor to have a lesser rating and got :M through tho season intact than to have :K a class A league and struggle nlong Wj with ovory chance of having to closo. MM up before the end of tho schedule is ;Uj reachod. jH If It comes to a showdown McCredie ;M Is ready to'show Baum and tho other M Coast magnates othor legal phases of the questions Involved, but ho doesn't jj0 bellevo it will bo necessary.
