CHICAGO. Sept 3. An appeal was
issued today inviting all elements of
radicals to unite under tho banner of
the new communist labor party, which
was organized yesterday. In respon.-.e
to the invitation the ultra-radirai
uroup of Socialists known as commMti
ists and consisting largely of the for
eign language federations, sent a com
mittee to confer with the new political
party to ascertain if the two factlooa
might unite in one body.
A split in the ranks of the ult.a-
radical communists haa developed over
the question of program and policy.
Alexander Stocklltxy, secretary of the
Russian Socialist Federation, Is lead
ing a faction which demands that an-,
other party be formed based on Bolshe
vist principles while the faction lad
by Denis Batt of Detroit favors fusion
with the communist labor party. The
communist labor party delegates sang
social revolutionary songs for an hour,
before getting down to business to-"
day. One of the songs waa, "The Gen
eral Debs Gang," of which the words
of the refrain are:
"Glorious, glorious, we'll make the
Bolshevik victorious,
"Hail to the Plutea, they are makio
more of us,
"While Debs lies in prison for us all."

tion, and the two insurgent groups,
the communist labor party, formerly
the left wing of the main party and
