1 I t IQ THE 'OGDEN STANDARD: OCDEN. UTAH, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 1919. I "SHEPHERD OF HILLS" I MAKES GREAT FILM ' A plcturlzaUon of Harold Bell Wright's -well known story. "The Shep herd of the Hills." played at the Or phemn theatre last night. Large crowds greeted the picture. L t.m in the Ozark bills, the story I affords e-xcellent material for scenic effects and ihe photographer has not failed to take advantage of hia op portunity; there are mountainsides with lights and shadows softly blend -d, trails and roadways overbuncr with drooping foliage, cloud effects with sunset and bands of sheep winding their way to their shelter ff.r the , In this setting la given the allunng story of the Kentlc stranger .who goes into the mountain and spends h.s de clining Years working for the uplift of the crude and rugged .inountaineor;--of the tragically sweet story of little Pete; and his unhappy parents, and ihe love story of Sammy and "Young Matt." The narrative is too well known to need reproduction here. Throughout the story many exciama tlons of appreciation were heard in the audience and not a few eyes were I moist at some of the experiences de-j picted. Mr. Wright himself arranged IhO. scenario and had personal supervision, of the production. The characters are capably portrayed and the picture sj altogether enjoyable.
