12 THE STOCK MARKET. All Comstock shares advanced yesterday, the improvement oelng most marked in the higher priced stock. Con. Cal. <fc Va. sold up to $2 70, Oohir to $1 55, Halo A Norcross to 94 cents, Mexican to 68 cents, and so on. The close was weaker. NOTES. Franklin Leonard, president of the Sutro Tunnel Company, arrived on the Comstock last evening, says the Virginia Chronicle of lust Saturday. Mr. Leonard will spend some days on the Comstock for the purpose of becoming conversant, with the situ ation, and his visit will no doubt result In benefit to the lode. In all probabilities arrangements will be made between the sutro Tunnel Company and the mining; company whereby the working of the Brunswick lode and the American Flat district will be mi.de beneficial to both, and to the community as well. A new strike of $30 ore is also announced In the official letter from the Ophlr. A lot of $500,000 In Southern Pacific Railroad of Arizona 6 per cent bonds sold in this market at par. The Parafflne Paint Company will pay a quarterly dividend of 25 cents per share on June 29. The Humboldt Savings and Loan Society has de clared a semi-annual dividend at the rate of 4.80 per cent per annum on term and 4 per cent on or dinary deposits, payable July 1. BOARD SALES.
