After a period of ■ hesitancy at the opening, prices moved up briskly - in the case of Anthracite Coalers on the reiteration ! of the old reports of a combination of the compa nies for the better maintenance of rates and for the ' • regulation of the output. The steady advance in .-the price of the product of late strengthens the be lief of an early consummation of the deal, and it is stimulating purchases of the stocks.
