12 THE GRAND JURY'S FEES. The Appropriation Has Kun Out and Some of the Members Will Have to AVuit for Their I*:iy. Auditor Broderick wes summoned be fore the Grand Jury yesterday on its own collective and individual behalf. The Auditor has found himseif n't the end of the appropriation tor jury and witness fees, wit 1 some $1900 demands in his nands unsatisfied. The appropriation made nt the be^iiininß of the tiscai year was J4500. and upon that sum the Auditor has signed warrants to t tie amount of $4498. Tin-re being no warrant lor the even $2 the Auditor s opped there, ana »-ent the balch oi warrant-, amounting to $1900, back whence they cairn 1 . Amoni'ihe iot were a number Irom members of the Grand Jury, and that body became nerv ous about the result, aud so summoned t lie Auditor balore them to learn what it meant. That official explained the situation, but advised the gentlemen not to worry, as Uieir fees could, in his opinion, be ob tained from the ;unds of next year, as le ing within the salary list.
