10 CONFIRMING A BIG SALE. Judge Slack Had a Crowd of Lawyers Before Him Yesterday. There was an imposing array of legal talent in Jud^e Slack's court on Monday, the occasion being the application for the confirmation of the referee's report in the case of Adam Grant acainst the hairs of the Murphy estate, inyolving the parti tion ot certain property recently sold by order of the court for $450,000. Am on? the lawyers present w«re W. B. "Wood, lleuben Lloyd, t\ P. Deerine, James G. Maguire, Joseph Leggett, T. I. Bergm. R. H. Leyy, J. P. Laiißhorn and others who were more or less remotely connected with the litigation. The price received for tne property eeeniß to have been satisfactory to all parties in interest and the main question of discussion seemed to be in regard to the fees of attorneys and commissions oi the ref -ree. It was agreed that Referee Umbsen should receive $5000, and the only matter to be settled is now the 7000 fee of Lloyd & Wood shall be shared among those bene fited by the services of the attorneys last ■named. » » 0 TH£ STOCK MAEKET.
