Proper Assigned Top Weigh t
for Follansbee Handicap
Haadicapper Egbert announced yes
terday *the weights for the Follans
bee lightweight handicap at six fur
longs, which will be the stake fea
ture of next Saturday's card at
Emeryville. The race will be a very
valuable one to the winner, as there
have been 117 nominations for it- The
Jockey club will add KOOO.
Proper, winner of the New eTar's
handicap, has been assigned top weight
of 133. The handicapper evident
ly - entertains a high regard for
Nealon. as he asks the son of Sain
to carry 13?. which weight is also
assigned to Shot Gun. The latter has
a great reputation for packing weight,
but the distance will probably bother
him. Tbe same thing applies to Cruza
dos. who gets in with 130. Loglstllla
is asked to carry 125. The route is
so short that she will hardly start,
even should the going be good. Col
lector Jessup, F. W. Barr and Sir Ed
ward are rated about on a par by the
handicapper, with an impost of 122
pounds. Tony Faust gets In with 119,
which is three pounds more than • the
weight carried to victory In the
stake last year by Dr. Gardner. Na
tive Son, with whom Tony Faust
matched up closely at shorter dis
tance. Is asked to carry 112, Woolma
111 and Miss Offlcious, Barney Schrei
ber*s promising filly, 106.
