SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD BOY CONFESSES BURGLARIES Walter Rudolph Enters Four Residences and Makes Hauls Worth $400 Walter Rudolph, 16 years of Rgc InnUo down under the questioning of detectives yesterday and confessed that during the last month he had /bmra'.t t"d four darinp burglaries and had stolen jewelry and other articles to the value of nearly 5400. All of the arti cles, with a few exception*, had b^tn disposed of at the various small jew < !ry shops about town.* It was througrh descriptions obtained at these places that ,the young burglar was appre hended. On March 14 David r.ird<>rman, 40"6 California street, re ported that his residence had been robbed the night before and that $150 worth of goods, including some tools, had been stolen. The prisoner also con- Feased this crime. The last place looted by the youthful burglar was the home of Mrs. M. Manchester, at 1755 Golden CJato avenue, find on this occasion he made away with $50 worth of valuables. When arrested by Detectives Harper Hell and Armstrong, Rudolph had sibout $23 worth oX the stolen articles on his person. The police believe th»t Rudolph is older than he Bays he is. According to hi* statement he came here frorp St. I^oTiis four months ago and since that tlmo has been working as a carpenter's helper for a contractor in Mission Ftreet. So far as known he has no rela tives y in San Francisco. HOLY WEEK SERVICES IN CATHOLIC CHURCHES Impressive Ceremonies Will Be Held at St. Mary's and at St. The Bervices In St. Ignatius Church during holy week will be as follows: BlrKsing of the palms this morning Just bofore the mass at 10:20 o'clock; Wed nosday and Holy Thursday evenings the office of the tenebre will be chanted at 7:20 by the fathers and the scholastics. NEW MASONIC TEMPLE IS TO BE BUILT HERE Articles of Incorporation of Building Association X Are Filed % Preparations are being made to erect a large Masonic temple in San Fran cisco, although the site for the build ing has not been selected. Articles of incorporation of the Masonic Temple Association were filed yesterday in the County Clerk's office. The capital stock of the association is fixed at 11,500.000. XEW THEATRICAL CENTER With the addition of two new thea ters to the business district of Fillmore, street a new theatrical center has been established there. Two class A struc tures are now in use. a third 1b Jn course of construction and land has been leased for two more, all within one block of the main thoroughfare of the district and scattered through the territory from Sutter to Turk streets. A new home for grand opera has been planned by the Tlvoli and Grand Opera house Company. It will be erected on land leased at the northwest corner of Turk and Webster. The Western Amusement Company also will build a new playhouse in the same neighbor hood. SUCCUMBS TO SHOCK CAUSED BY CALAMITY Miss Lottie Wager, Actress, Unable to Recover From Shattering of Nervous System Last April PROVIDENCE, R. 1., March 23.— Miss Lottie Wager, an actress, died in a hospital today , as a result of shock to her nervous system at the time of the calamity in San Francisco last April.
