That Juror was Charlen Meyers, and he sat all by him self, after eighteen venire-men had been put up sis targets for the questions of Assistant District Attorney Ward for liio prosecution and J. S. Meyer for tlie defense. A similar case called in tbe morning had exhausted fifty vc ' nlremcn, out of which but three were •eligible, so both sides apreed to pro cord with one juryman. Aftor the evidence was all in and the lawyers liad talked confidentially to the "jury." Meyers %vas takrn to the Jury-room, where lie evidently di» tkgrof-a with himself for Fom«» time, be er, use he was fifteen minutes arriving at -a verdict, "Call the roll," said the Judge, when the "Jury" liled" into his seat. "Let the foreman read the verdict." The foreman read "Not guilty" as tlie unan imous opinion of the "Jury" and the defendant was released. . Dispatches From Goldfield Dispirit Stock Buyers Brokers Hear That the Miners Decide Not to Separate Frjam the I. W. W. Dispatches wer« received by several mining stock brokers in Bush street yesterday containing information that tbe miners had agreed not to separate from the Industrial Workers of the World. The effect was to give the Nevada mining: shares another tumble. The Tonopahs held their own very well, but a shading-off in Jim Butler amount ing to 3 points took place and Midway lorn 2 points, while .West End gained 2. The principal losses fell on the OoldSeld stocks. The closing bids, compared with those of the preceding day, showed a falling off In Combination Fraction from $4.25 to $4.15; Florence, from $3.85 to $3.60: Goldfield Consolidated Mines, from $8.12% to $8; Mohawk, from $17 to $16.60. There were losses of 5 points each in Oreat Bend, Silver Pick, Jumbo Extension and St. Ives. and smaller de clines in Atlanta, Booth. Dlamondfleld Triangle. Lone Star, Oro and Red Top Extension. Some of the Bullfrogs gained slightly. Gold Bar went from $1.05 to $1.07; May flower Consolidated, from 41 to 41 cents; Tramp Consolidated, from $1.17 to $1.20. Several Manhattan stocks also advanced ellghtly. Including Mustang Manhattan. Original Manhattan and Stray Dog. Nevada Hills dropped from $3.60 to $3.50. There were sales of 21,500 shares of Diamondfleld Triangle at 46 cents to 47 cents. Atlanta sales were 21,200 shares at 70 to 68 cents. Combination Fraction sold at $4.25 and down to $4.17% to the extent of 8500 shares. Goldfield Consolidated Mines opened at $8. sold up to $8.12%, down to $7.87% and then gravitated back to $8. Oreat Bend sales were 83,800 shares, with a drop from $1.05 to 98 cents. Red Top Extension shares, selling to the extent of 32,000 shares, went up a peg from 48 to 49 cents In actual tales. Tbe other large pellers were Silver Pick, of which 15,000 shares were taken at $1.20 and $1-16. and St. Ives. 19.000 shares at $1.60. $1.47%. $1.40 and then $I.so' once more. ISH GETS COMBINATION Round Mountain Mining Property Transfer Involves $150,000 The Round Mountain Nugget gives the following particulars of a deal at Round Mountain in which Marvin I«h is concerned: The Boond Mountain Combination Mining Com pany has been reorganized, controlling Interest having been bought by the Goldfleld firm of Mnrvin Uh & Bro.. who are principal owners of the Oro and Atlanta mines at Goldfleld and the Jack Pot tnln« at Wonder. The ledge has been opened at various points for a distance of 2000 feet and has an average width of thirty feet. Samples taken from this show valnes approxi mating |150 a ton, with specimens running to a much larger figure. A specimen on exhibition in the office of th« Press shows azurite, mala chite and boraite. Tbe Nevada Tonopah Mines Syndicate is the owner of eight claims from which tbe samples were taken. The company is headed by T. B. Blckey and A. D. Myers is the vice president. Ruttiedge is the general manager. NEW CONTROL OF GRANNY Hirschler and Associates Buy Out Other Interests in Manhattan The Manhattan Mail says that Ed Hirachler and his associates have ob tained control of the Uranny mine in the Manhattan district by the purchase of other interests. The new manage ment will develop the property. Tho Granny lies between the Consolidated and Litigation Hill mines. Ore is re ported to have been struck in the shaft that averages $20 to the ton. On the 100-foot le% - el ore is said to have been encountered that runs $300 to the ton. Development work is pro ceeding by drifts , from the 100-foot level.
