All the world knows /~Y of that woman and that war, .The woman was V Helen T of Troy; the war the Trojan war. Later • there v was another v war, thlsMimo in England, and this .war. some historians assert, was also Instituted ih some subtle way by the beauty of a woman. In this. last war, known, as the War of, the Roses, every •partisan wore a flower. Ked roses and white blos somed; in: the streets of England, and women wero known by the badge they displayed. iln this year of 1307 thcro is yet another war— this time in the United States. This war is also being -waged over the beauty^ of woman; and . while tho loyal henchmen of Beauty's Qaeen do not show forth "their zeal and championship by wearing colors, either white or red, their ardor and devotion to the cause — the old, old cause— are no less evident. \ i For in California these potential Queens of Beauty have gone Into battlo to win.
