Strikes in the Florence Make Prices of Stock Climb Goldfield Consolidated Mines Shares Also Keep Upon theUp Grade Florence was a leading attraction In the sales in the San Francisco mining exchange yesterday. The price was run up to $4.90, largely as a result of reports of recent strikes in the ; Flor ence ground. Information was given out from the offices of Zadig & Co., on the strength of advices from Goldfield, that a strike on the J. 60 foot level of the Florence leßge promised to be one of the big things in the camp. An ore body four feet wide, according to this 'story, has been encountered that car ries values of $600 a. ton. A stringer .that essayed $9,000 a ton Is also re ported to have been struck in Florence ground. The Florence ledge, so It is reported, is.in the Firelight claim, ad joining the Atlanta. ,' '. Another story was also'giren out on the street yesterday that has not been verified, that at a depth ol 355 feet'the Gold field Vencender leasing and mining company had opened a ledge in the .upper workings in which, the ore runs •from $4 to $80 a ton In assays. This ■e.oinpajiy is operating in Iho Combina tjon nines ground. The last mentioned r. mor had no particular effect, but the ".stnry about the Florence ground un do-übtedJy influenced prices. Florence tvas reported on the street to be seling 2t. $5 in. Goldfield. Gold field Consolidated mines shares sold In' the San Francisco raining ex c.bsnso at $7.37 H to $7.40. Jumbo Ex tension was bought at $1.82*3, and j Daisy jumped from $1.65 to $1.80. The 1 volume of business on the San Fran cisco mining exchange was quite large, although not quite up to that of the vday preceding. Some of the top prices that were received were as follows: Jim Butler, $1.02%; Red Top Exten sion, '24 cents; Tonopah Extension, JI.SO; Bhie Bull, SO cents; Great Bend, 64 cents; St. Ives, 99 ' cents. An executive meeting of the San Francisco mining exchange was held I yesterday afternoon, at which It was : ! decided. to increase the number of seats jn the exchange to 175. Vice President ■Kramer of the exchange has secured .".many members at Goldfield and the oilier southern Nevada mining camps among the brokers. The 176 seats are ■hot all in immediate demand, but there are only 22 out of the ■whole number vacant and applications have been re~ ■celred for some of these. A = The Al J. Moore brokerage company has cpme into existence to take up the business of A. J. Moore. The plan back I of this Is for Moore to go to New York .' find for C. Alvln Muller to occupy seats in" Bush street and in Oakland and to cafe for the Oakland business of the company. After today there will be no mining stock board in operation in this city during the remainder of the present .week, the San Francisco exchange •^embers taking a vacation until "next Monday morning.
