Back slipped the merger shares from $5.02% to $4.92^4. Down ward also went Belmont, Blue Bull, Combination Fraction, Daisy, May flower Consolidated and many other stocks that sell at lower prices than the ones just mentioned. This was attributed to the fact that another bad break Jiad taken place In Wall street and that selling orders were received that forced prices down. There were no large sales of the principal stocks in the local mining shares market. The merger situation seemed- to be -well In hand, for while the price declined there were only 1,700 shares that were given out by owners at the regular call board and less than 6,500 shares during the remainder of the day. On the other hand the sales of some of the lower priced stocks were Quite heavy. Mohawk Consolidated Leasing was slaughtered. More than 30,000 Con N York. — 03]Seg Belcher ..OS 04 Coa Va-kl 00. ' . i In these days of progress the steam ships have Included mor* and more the comforts of v land, so . that passengers hardly know they are at sea unless they gro up on deck to have a look at the water. or get seasick.; The; five day boats enjoy most of the advantages :oij a first class hotel. They are fitted with' telephones and elevators, there are newspapers published^'on board and the ships; keep In 'touch with -land ' all the way over the sea by the wireless teleg raphy. And' now there will be theatrical* at sea. Charles Frohman is named as the originator of the Idea, and tourists may soon go to a first class musical comedy or drama* performed by the best;com panies, just as If the Broadway rialto had been -launched bodily: from Dream land's shore or Drury Lane had met Its Trafalgar, on the \u25a0 Lusitania or Mauretanla or other craft to come. Alf Hayman, Frohman's - manager here, confirmed the news. Light com- , edy was to be tried first In all prob ability, h ft said, and If it works well theatricals in other branches would be put upon the steamship -boards. „ ' "Mr. Frohman has been thinking of this for some time," said Hayman. "The chief activity is on the London side, where Mr. Frohman is co-operating with the Cunard company. The scheme probably will be tried first on the Lusi tania; and ocean voyages will have the opportunity of enjoying a real treat." Hayman said he could not tell Just when the plan will be put In operation. The details, he admitted, had not yet been definitely settled on. Whether a sea theater is a |2 house or not was another question. Of course so much per head would be charged to the non seasick audience, .bur \u25a0vmethar or not the scale of prices would be the same as on land was yet beyond Hayman's power to declare. , The dining saloon of a trig ship like the Lusitania, he thought, would lend Itself well to the staging o£ plays, es pecially light comedies and, farces, and there would be no trouble about the lighting arrangements. Scenery may be set up anywhere at short notce and all the paraphernalia, of the seafaring company would be right, at hand. The stage room would not be as well fitted for the production of plays requiring a large cast. . "Frankly," said the sea theater's sponsor, "the chief difficulty probably would arise from seasickness. But in case one or more members of the com pany crossing to America or returning to Europe were seized with mal-de-mer the others would go on and fill In the gaps as best they could." Hayman expressed himself as most optimistic concerning- the future of the : plan. Celba,. a' port on the north coast of Honduras, and leas than 1,100 , miles south of New Orleans, population of ficially estimated at 6,500, probably of fers to the enterprising American busi nessman or of moderate means better. inducement and opportunity than may be - found in any of the ; Central Amerloan towns bordering the Carib bean sea. The steady growth during the past 17 years from a single hut to the present population and • commercial importance \as a shipping port and dis tributor of merohandiße for the adjacent towns and vicinity has been due to the large trade in tropical fruit to New Or leans f- and Mobile. These cities sen d no less than 20 steamers monthly to Celba bringing cargoes of hardware, canned and dry.gooda, boots, shoes and leather goods, sawed lumber, corrugated iron, and a general assortment of mixed mer chandise, and return laden with banan as, cocoanuts and other fruits. The oll mate. - while tropical, ; is fanned contin ually,by the cooling trade winds of the Atlantic and extreme heat is the excep tion; the percentage of sickness is very low. as compared with many of the American gulf /ports, and Ceiba is de clared both by resident and visitor to be "healthful and agreeable." .
