TWELVE INCH GUNS BOOM ALONG PRESIDIO BLUFFS Firing at Moving Targets in the Bay to Be Begun Today The booming of big guns yesterday morning announced - that target prac tice had begun at the Presidio. . The firing opened with three shots from the 10 inch guns at Battery Cranston, In command of Captain -Casey. Theee were followed by the great 12 inch guns of Battery Godfrey, in com mand of Captain Nugent. At •. this battery nine volleys were fired, the fir&t six being tt> test the calibration of the guns, while the last three were the regulation service projectiles. The firing was discontinued soon afternoon on account of haze and fog. . . General Funston and his aid, Lieu tenant Evans, arrived early on the scero and remained until the practice stopped. Colonel Lundeen also took a. lively Interest in the proceedings. Major John W. Ruckman. the fire commander, was assisted. by Captain Avery, Captain Xugent and \u25a0>\u25a0 Captain Casey.
