Kingston was employed last Saturday by Montagu Hendoza, traveling sales man for an oriental Jewelry firm of Philadelphia, to carry his samples around the city. Mendoza alleges that when he opened his samples at the St. Francis hotel he found about f 100 worth missing. ROBBED XN A BAXOOX J. They were fielmont, Mexican and Ophir, which were rising, and Goldfleld Con solidated, which was In the selling rut and lost Sc during the day. Belmont went safely over the $2 mark, opening' at JI.BO and closing at $2.05. At one time it touched $2.15. Belmont in its rise carried Jim Butler from 43c to 46c; West End, with some what of a rush, from 43c to 46c; Tono pah Extension from $1.40 to $1.70. Bel mont had closed Monday at $1.82. but when the first sale was recorded yester day morning it was quoted at $1.80. It quickly recovered its ground, however, and forged upward with good pur chases. At 51.97^ 2,400 shares changed hands. Then the market trembled a little and fell to $1.95. Twenty-seven hundred shares were traded then and that affected the market for the better, for the next sale was at $2 and it went to $2.15 and closed at $2.05. Goldfield Consolidated closed Monday at $5.25 and opened yesterday morning at $5.27. Then it fell as low as $5.15, but picked up at the end and closed at $5.20 asked and $5.17 bid. Jumbo Extension opened at 50c and one sale was recorded at $1.55. Ke wanas went from 51c to 53c, Daisy from $1.07 to $1.10. Combination Fraction from 83c to 80c bid, Florence from $4.85 to $4.85 bid. St. Ives fell from 55c to 51c. The activity In Eagle's Nest was continued yesterday, giving the stock a lift from 23c to 26c bid. Dealings in Comstock were lively. Ophir closed Monday at $2.40 and jumped 25c on the opening transaction. It rose to $2.80 and dropped back to $2.52^4. Mexican opened at $1.10, rose to $1.12 Vi and closed at $1.
