The Italia went ashore during a heavy "fog about 30 miles south of Iquique. The Radames passed close, to the wreck. The ship was under full sail when It went ashore, and when tha Radames \u25a0went by the canvas was 1 still set and drawing although for the greater part of its length the Italia was high and dry. No lives were lost in the wreck', but no hope is entertained of saving the ship, the hull of which was dam aged. This is the first visit of the Radames to this port and Captain Yon Helms, its master, has not been here for some years. The Radames is equipped with line passenger accommodations and ar rived here with 30 passengers, some of whom came all the way from Europe. The liner brought a large cargo, which included a heavy shipment of nitrate and a big consignment of coffee. The Radames 1 passengers Included: Sir James 1-2. Erskine, wifo and daughter, Mrs. M. E. Lewis, Mrs. Helen L. Brown and three children, Alejo Ro mano and wife, Herman Pohl, Wil helm Beof, Mrs. H. Beltran, T. Bor bolla. wife and child, Robert Haddow and wife, and Richard Huntoon. Supply Ship* .Yearly Loaded The navy supply ship Culgoa has finished loading at Main street wharf and yesterday went to an anchorage in the stream, where such supplies as tare not yet on board will be received from lighters. The Glacier will finish at Main street today and will join the fleet in the stream. While at the wharf both the Culgoa and the Glacier disregarded the" quarantine precau tions and both vessels will be refused certificates by the federal quarantine authorities. This will mean that the supply ships will not be allowed along side the wharf at Honolulu and other ports of call and will have to receive their coal and .subsequent supplies from lighters, unless in the meantime they are submitted to a thorough fumi gation. \u25a0 • Ice Milken Xiivigntlon 'Dnnecrntia ..According to word received at the merchants' exchange yesterday the voy age to Nome is fraught with more than ordinary danger this year on ac count" of the ice; which presents se rious menace' to navigation. Passenger Victim of Thief Just before the steamer President sailed yesterday afternoon for Seattle, William Brown, a passenger, reported to the police that while hfe was check ing his baggage a' thief .had stolen his valise. Bulld» Ratproof Corral The Pacific Mall company has built a ratproof "corral" on Spear street wharf for the accommodation of shippers to ports where certain products from San Francisco will not be received unless accompanied by a guarantee that they came here under, quarantine super vision and were stored in a ratproof warehouse. Dr. Blue, who issues these certificates, has been asked to Inspect and approve the Spear street corral. The harbor commissioners are build ing a ratproof corral on the sea wall after plans prepared, by Dr. Blue. Doth Fall From Scaffolds Albert Clark, a carpenter, who lives it 4131 Twenty-fourth street, suffered painful injuries through • the breaking of a scaffold on which he was working at 1026 Dupont street. The breaking of a plank caused A, D. Logan, a paper hanger of 55 Pearl street, to fall 10 feet to the floor of a building at 62 Market , street. Logan suffered an injury to his right heel. Both, men were treated at the harbor hospital. Liner Asia to Sail Today Tlie Pacific Mail liner Asia, Captain Henri Gaukroger, will sail at 1 o'clock this afternoon for the far east. The Asia will carry orfly about .1,000 tons of freight. There will be 20 passengers in the cabin and about 100 Chinese in; the steerage. May Yohe was to have been a passenger on the Asia, but her reservation was canceled in a letter from Portland," which gave the ill health of the actress as a reason for not going on the Asia, French Liner Arrives From North The French liner Amiral Duperre ar rived yesterday from Yokohama by way of Puget sound.
