It is believed that the little old steamer suffered iio dam age, having been stranded on a sandy beach.and will re main at San Bias only long: enough to take a earg6 of bananas for San Diego. Captain Roberts, marine superinten dent for the Homer Fritch company, was in charge of the work of getting the Homer afloat. The stranded steam er was towed into deep water by the Southern Pacific trig Dolphin. The Homer went ashore on its first voyage from the port to San Bias, the steamer having been chartej-ed by a southern banana company. It was a nice, ladylike shipwreck and the pas sengers and crew got away dryshod and with all their belongings. The Homer was seven miles inside its course when it went ashore and the accident is supposed to have been caused by an error in the compass. " The steamer is said to have gone astray earlier in the voyage and only daylight prevented a stranding in the vjcijjity of Point La Julia. Public .Navigation School Anew class In navigation will be or ganized at 7:15 p. m. tomorrow at the Humboldt evening high school, at Eighteenth and Dolores strerts.
