founder's day yesterday^

regents, who is chairman of the com
mittee on the school, presided at tho
meeting- yesterday and the address of
the day was rnade by James Ferguson.

Announcement was made that a citi
zen of the city had offered two annual
prizes, to he known as the Lincoln es

Mudents of tho Lick and Wilmerdingr
schools. The first prize is to be $15,
and the second $10, and both may not
}i<* won by the same, school.
Each essay must- be from 1.500 to
2,000 words in length, to be submitted
to Principal Merrill. May 1, to be signed
