ment by the local collector of revenue. 400
passengers from Purret sound to California ports
come to Grays Harbor each month to take the
steamers for the south. If this be true, it will
not be l^cg until the regular line of steamers

ing at ttis pert goinc and coming.
The j-avioe of distance and time will be as
great a consideration in the shipments of fruits
end vegetables as for passenger travel. A
steamer would cull at Aberdeen and, discharge

the Seattle and Tae.otna markets before the
vessel woxild arrive in the sound.
