On board the liner are 147' cabin passengers and 350 Asiatics, of whon'i the majority are (Hindus. Of the Mongolia's cabin passengers, . 95 are from China and Japan and the bal ance from Honolulu. : • The Tenyo. Maru, which left Honolulu at 10 o'clock a. Sunday, brings no passengers from Honolulu, but has 80 cabin passengers from the far east and 135 Asiatics. , - - The Mongolia has 13,500 tons pf freight, which includes 4,800 tons 7of Overland cargo and 200 tons for Pan ama. The overland freight includes 115 tons of raw silk and silk- "goods. ' The Tenyo has only 4,000 tons .of freight, which includes 504 tons of tea, 30 tons of matting and 58- tons of raw silk. . -; -As the Mongolia is not- only- behind tlrne, but "will have to be dryflocked to ascertain what damage was sustained Avhen, ashore, the sailing date has been feet back three days and the liner will not leave' here until August 12. ' For tftat . trip' the Mongolia has already about 250 cabin, passengers, booked: and will carry a big cargo. The .Japanese skip .-will land its-pas sengers at th ! e end of pier, 44, and after discharging its silk will- proceed to Oakland long wharf to discharge the balance of its overland freight. The Tenyo's local cargo probably will be discharged at. pier 34, the Western Pa cific wharf, .where, before long, the Japanese liners will make their regu lar home. ' < . Buffalo Endx Training Cruise '; The United States navy transport Buffalo, Captain Stone, returned yes terday from the south after having had the southern California divisions of the state naval militia, out. -for: a' week 'of training. The officers and men of the Buffalo give the southern civilian sail ors a splendid name. . . , The Buffalo had about 100 of 'them on board, picked up at Satlta' Barbara, San Pedro and San Diego; and for a week' the militiamen were given--- a plentiful dose of practical'naval"train ing. The militiamen swung their ham mocks side by side with the enlisted men of the Buffalo's crew, and, side by side with the latter, scrubbed ham mocks and decks, ' polished brass and did all the other stunts that make up the duties of the enlisted men in the United States navy. , -• The militiamen, officers and men were" given drills without end and prac tical, instruction in gunnery, navigation and seamanship, and a large and un diluted dose of naval discipline. They took their medicine like men ai.nd taught the regulars who put. them;- over.- the jumps to have . a wholesome respect for. the civilian sailors -of California. After taking. a few stores the Buffalo proceeded to the Mare island navy yard. •. The southern rtilitiamen were given their .practice, on' the Buffalo because there was' not room : for them on the Marblehead when the cruiser regularly assigned to the; California state: naval militia made .its. trip to Puget sound. Those who went on the Marblehead made a longer cruise, but the con tingent that took its lesson on- the Buf falo probably'received a stiffer dose. ■-■■'■■ ' The Marblehead was taken to Cali fornia City.
