Off the coast of Japan, where tbe Nippon was caught in a fierce gale, the Logan encountered the same blow, and for two days the troopship battled • with the high seas and the passengers and crew were aw.?d by a terrific electrical storm which drove the wireless operator from h!s post and made the more timid, on board fear that the transport was Nf-unJ for the bottom. Bolts of light ning came frn-n the skies in every di rection as though the ship was the ob s^ct of a bombardment from the heav ens The s*>a continued rousrh for a Fts^fcrce 01 da5S after the St ° Vm 6pent Wave* Wash Deck. Two days eff the Golden Gate the Lopran encountered a nrone south soiijheasr wind which developed into a jrale winch tossed the big transport about and kept the lower decks contin ually awash.
