Metal stocks were the features «n the Hellinp movement, with steel and copper making new low prices on this move. While some small support seemed to be accorded these securities at the low figures, the rallying power was not par ticularly impressive. Railway stocks showed a sympathetic move, but were quick to rally In the later operations of the day, when professionals attempted to cover. There was a dearth of news of any kind that might af fect the security situation here, and It can only be said that the market is marking time at the present, with bankers', holding aloof." Bcnie of yesterday's largest short fellers bcugnt at the outset and this drained the market. May Congestion has been more la evidence today, dux the supply loosen* up almost Invariably <m a very unimportant bulge. Trade In July wheat today has. been much largSr/than heretofore and Is steadily increasing. Minneapolis shipments or flonr and wheat today were the lightest on the crop. Down itate reports heavy cut In Cour prices, with the latter at low est hr many years. $3.77 for first winter patents. "Corn — Tbe market has ruled easier and very slow after a firmer start. Latter was largely due. to the wet and sloppy weather prevailing; generally over the corn belt. Country sales at stations are small, but tbe consignments continue at capacity of cars available, and there Is very little ; outlet today in . a nhipplne way. Cash corn was $4e to lower In the sample market. Some talk of delivery No. S corn on December contracts at 6c penalty, but this could ; only be done at a stiff loss today. <\u25a0 "Oats have shown a weaker tone today, al though the trade has not been large. All false support has been , withdrawn from the cash mar ket and the latter reduced ti> a" merchandising basis by the withdrawal of the elevator demand for cars to make into standards for delivery on December contracts.
