Miller .was * brought from? Folsom to testify - against Ayhens, who aided him in -f robbing the 7 drug store' of 7J. H. Heath,- Fifth avenue 'and 'East*. Eigh teenth street, November 6, ; 1910. y Ay hens' was convicted upon Miller's tes timony. Miller ; told "Anderson y that Ayhens 7 had confessed ?to 7 him, A while they were "pals'? in crime, that he "and a man known 7as "Frenchy" had "mashed in I the head of' a man ;at r the pottery." This vague statement? was all that Ayhens had given Miller. ? It is believed that Athens referred to the "murder,of Bangs. V Captain of Inspectors Petersen thinks that the "Frenchy" referred 7to is a- man named French, ; known *as the "electric burglar" 7 and now serving time for burglary at San Quentin. ■A The Bangs murder was X one of the most vbrutal crimes 7ever; committed in this section of the country. Bangs was found outside of the borax works with his head crushed In? A trail of blood i led into"the premises, where an iron bar was found. ? Miller /claims that since testifying against Ayhens ,his life, has been threatened by his fellow convicts, and he believes that; an attempt? upon his life will be made. :He expects -to, be' released on parole at the end of the year for his. part in convicting Ayhens.
