the following Information has been received
from the ageut of Canadian marine and fisheries,
Victoria, B. C:
Mariners are warned that the wooden float
l-egring an electric light and fog bell stationed
In Vancouver harbor on Burnaby shoal, does not
mark the edge of the shoal, but is anchored on
:hc shoal approximately 300 feet south and east
fr m the old poaitiou. This change was made as
it was found that this aid could not be relied
open in its former position owing to the llabil-
Itj of being damaged by tows or by the strength
«f the tide. Mariners are further Informed
that the red spar buoy also maintained by the
marine department marks approximately tne
edge of the shoal, but owing to its liability of
re'rg fouled and towed from position It Is not
to be absolutely relied upon, although every en
deavor will be made by the department to keep
