They called attention to the continued takings of cash wheat here and at the seaboard and asserted that the demand is more likely to enlarge than to decrease. The tone of the market is regarded by most traders as better and, in fact, the speculative atmosphere was bet ter all over tlie board. The increase in trading stocks ln Wall street and the advance in prices theer are taken as straws indicating that a change has come over the spec ulative situation and that for the present at least wheat should be bought on breaks. Bears say that the short interest has been reduced on th e arlvance and that there has been bulge enough and advocate sales on any further upturn. It is said that corn bulls would be satisfied to hav e prices hold around present levels for two weeks or more, so as not to attract too much corn here. The west was having a had storm yesterday, which was working eastward. This, the bulls thought, iai likely to further delay the movement, it was said by pit traders who were bearish that the short interest has been cut down enough to warrant a recession in values for a day or two unless there is new buying devel oped. It was the gossip of the provision trade last night that there had been about break enough in prices for the rime being, this theory being based on the fact that the decline in hog prices is expected to curtail country marketings. !
