The home was decorated with Christmas berries and wreaths. Assisting the hosts in receiving were Mr. and Mrs. William Volkmann. Mr. and Mrs. Egbert Stone and Mrs. A. P. Hotaling. The place cards were attached to tiny white bride baskets filled with meadow sweet. Later the guests enjoyed bridge, the prizes for which were pretty silver frames. The rooms were ren dered attractive by an artistic ar rangement of cut flowers and greens. Mrs. J. R. Knowland assisted the hostess in receiving. In addition to bridge, Mrs. Lyman provided a musi cal program for the enjoyment of her guests. Mrs. Lloyd Collar, soprano, rendered two solos and was accom panied by Mrs. Ford Samuel; Mrs. A. E. Phelan, mezzo soprano, gave three solos to the piano accompaniment of Walter Lambert Brown, one of them being a composition of Mr. Brown that had never before been publicly sung. The wedding was a surprise, as when Miss Fulcher sailed for the Islands it was understood that she was going to visit. Sledge is connect ed with the navy yard engineers at Pearl Harbor. They will live In Hono lulu. Miss Ella Orme has returned to her home in Alameda from a six weeks' visit in Stockton and Sacramento. Two Playlets Staged By Peninsular Clubt Two playlets, "Through Green Eyes," by Horace W. Amphlett, and "The Travelers," by Allison T. French, were staged by the Peninsular club at Hart's theater last night. Both plays are the work of San Mateans and were enthusiastically received by the clubmen and their friends.
