Last Saturday was the busiest day with merchants that Milan has seen in a long time. The biggest crowd of the year was in town, and it was with an effort that one could pass through Main street or get waited on in a tore. The holidays have been enjoyed this season in a more rational maimer than usual here. While nearly every one seemed to be ' happy, yet we had very little drunkenness or noise on the streets. Everybody seemed to be on their good behavior. After a severe but short illness, she died on that day, leaving a young in. fant, a grief-stricken husband, father, mother and brothers and sisters. It wos indeed a sad Chris' mas to them, and the Exchange tenders its sincere sympathy. She was the eldest daugh ter of Dr. M. B. Harris. L. Q.
