' R kai, E statk in . N ew Y ork.— Holders of real estate around the t'ity Tlall Park mny congratulate tbemselve? upon tbe value of their property, if a recent sale may be taken ah R criterion of its worth. Mr. liennett, of the Thr old, has bonght the lot on which the Museum stood for t he handsome stun of $650,000. The lot measures 66 feet by 100, and the fee simple was in Mrs. II. W. Sargent, of Newbury, we believe, to whom the purchaser pays $4f)0,000 in twelve years time. Mr. Bamum, however, bad a lease with nearly twelve years to run, and for this he received -$200,000, or nearly one hall the whole value of the property. It enabled him to reflect with some equanimity upon the loss of his Mu seum as he quietly walked down to Wall street and invested the whole ?mn in 7-30 bonds. The site is an excellent one for a newspaper office, and if such a build ing is put up as the proprietor of a large daily journal knows from ex perience it should have, an additional sum of $300,000 for building will lie added to tine cost of the land. The whole outlay, therefore, will be $950,000. We have ilo doubt Mr. UeimetL will ereot a building suitable lor his purpose and an ornament to that »action of the city —A' Y.
