gentlemen have received their full

G ood A dvipb .—An advertise
ment appeared in a Northern paper
eoine time ago which promised, on
the receipt of ten cents in postage
stamps, under envelope, to such an
address, that the sender would be
furnished with valuable .advice.
Some one had the curiosity to make
the speculation, and received "ad
vice," as follows :
Friend, for your ten cents postage,
please find enclosed advice which
may be of great value to you. As
many persons are injured for weeks,
mouths and years by the careless
use of a knife, therefore my advice
is, when you use a knife, always
whittle from you.
A mnesty O aths .—As the day of

that the "Sumter House" maintains
its popularity as a first class estab

W ieck knows how and where to
select the best of wines, liquors,

his owu personal merits. His house
is known far and wide as one of the

proprietors of the above favorable estab

their advertisement, to keep open their
Restaurant and Ladies'Saloon during the
whole of the uight in which the Firemen's

accommodation to parties who may desire
at any hotir to retire from the crowd and
partake of the abundance of rare refresh

will bo ready to lay before their gue«ts.
Families and other parties desiring to
secure private saloons on that occasion
would do well to make early application
as the saloons are now being engaged.
