J Morris Ellsworth, the negro who
killed bis young wife in Newark,
New Jersey, a short time since, was
sentenced on Thursday to be hong.
He will be executed on the twenty
first of December.

Galveston on the 12th inst., under
pol. Sturgis, They are about 800

which has not called a convention for
reconstruction under the President's
proclamation.
Hon. Cbas. J. Jenkins is the only
candidate for Governor in Georgia.

are discussing the question of estab
lishing a cotton factory in or near that

Morrow is a little station on the Mi
imi road, about forty miles from Cin
cinnati. A new brakeman on the road
who didn't know tbe names of the
stations, was approached by a «ranger
the other day, while standing by his
irain at the depot, who inquired :
" Does this train go to Morrow to
flay ?"
" No," said the brakeman, who
thought the stranger was making game
©f him, " it goes to day, yesterday,
Week after next."
" You don't understand me," per
sisted the stranger, " 1 want to go to
Morrow."
" Well, why in thousand don't you
wait until to-morrow, then, and not
eome botbering around to day. You
ean go to-morrow or any other day
you please."
"Won't you answer a civil question
divily ? will this train go to-day to
Morrow
11 Not exactly. It will go to-day
and come back to morrow.''
