It has for its object the organi zation of a permanent brass band, which will at all times be prepared to answer the various requirements of our citizens for ser vices of a musical character, whether at publio or private parties, celebrations, festivals, funerals, exhibitions, concerts, <&c. The gentlemen proposing this enter prise, lack the means l'or purchasing the necessary instruments and to facilitate them in procuring those means, intend giving a grand ball nt Pjks'h Hall on the evening of Katurdtiy, the 30th of Decem ber, the proceeds of which to be applied for the purpose above stated, as will be farther seen on referring to an advertise ment in our columns to that effect. It is earnestly to be hoped that the la dies and gentlemen of our city will co-op erate in this laudable movement, as it is one winch promises much pleasure and en joyment to them in future.
