Burks ot Louisville, was visiting our city last Sunday. They had better stay off of Vincennes Street. Mrs. Yantis of Jeffersonville, was in the city visiting friends. William Sierrett is home from Cin cinnati. Mr. Geo. Pat ham was called to Jeffersonville to assist his lather who is sick. Rev. W. 11. Mcßidley officiated at Zion Church Sunday mght. Mr. Win. A large number were present. ALTON, ILLS. ITEMS Last Sunday Elder Becldey held his second quarterly meeting. Campbell Chapel was crowded in the afternoon _ The Elder- delivered an able sermon on baptism of children. The Masonic Hall, belonging to the Colored Masons of Upper Alton, was de stroyed by lire some weeks ago. The building caught from a defective Hue. The insurance will no doubt cover all looses. One more has been called to the spirit world from Alton, Miss A. Ellsworth, grand-daughter of Mrs. Clark. Miss Ellsworth was one of the finest young ladies of Alton, and her loss will be sadly felt by all who knew her.
