The report further shows that there are twenty four colored children, twelve boys and twelve girls, and one hundred and twenty-three white boys and one hun dred and twenty-five white girls. Important . business meeting, Wed nesday, 11th. Bro. Bussey and oth ers present. Will have a social after wards. ' 10-lt St. Paul. Minn., May 10. The result -3 of a year of experience have been so satisfactory tha the Northern Pacific railway has gone into specializing farming on a large scale and will add to the 11,000 hens which are working for its dining car department, a herd' of three hundred milch cows and a garden truck farm. At the same time it will build a second bakery to supplement the supplies furnished by the company bakery in Seattle, so that its cars may have fresh supplies both at St. Paul and. on the west end. The poultry farm at Kent, Wash., has made good. Fifty-two acres of land are devoted to this purpose and white leghorn hens are selected as the best breed for the company's purpose. The farm supplies 150 dozen eggs a day and guarantees a fresh supply for the cars. The new garden farm will cover 400 acres at Paradise, Mont., which has been purchased and improv ed, while at the same point an addi tional 2TO acres- of rich bottom land will be devoted to dairy purposes, sup plying fresh milk and cream.' -Excellent results have followed the experiment of providing supplies from company owned farms and the railway poultry venture has demonstrated that better service can be had from main tenance of' its own chicken yards than by depending upon the somewhat un certain and frequently unsatisfactory local supply at various points.
