THE -TIMES Tuesdays Oct. 25, 1910. mm FRENCH LACE "NIGHTIE" PUT TOGETHER WITH SEAM BEADING 1 Vk 4t ...5..V 1 1 5 V J The difference between a dUtinctire and an ordinary, lingerie gar ment Is not only in the fineness of the material, hut also in the manner of workmanship. The better class garment, when much lace is used,' is put together with very narrow entre deux or embroidery seam beading troublesome to stitch in, maybe, but paying for the trouble in the exquisite daintiness secured. The illustration shows a nightgown made of sheer nainsook and trimmed with French Valenciennes lace,- every yard of the lace being set in with the tiny entre deux. A wide ribbon insertion at the bust, threaded with pale blue ribbon finishes the garment. MEALS FOR THE DAY. Wednesday, October 29th. Your diligent work and search to capture me was amazing, as well as amusing. It was beyond what I expected for my first evening.- You did nobly (so did I). The great er portion of the evening you made me feel like a striped, convict seeking for liberty. I did not have on at tack during the evening, however, thank you. Yet I saw you annoy one or two innocent persons. With the enthusiasm displayed simply will not at this time make any predictions as to my possible capture, for would it not blend my dignity if I could not make good? The spacious Quarters, with the numerous attractions, give me a most exceptional opportunity to escape. I entered promptly at 8:30 last even ing, under entrance ticket No. 434. I went to Wonderland and then directly to the country store. "' Here the wheel of fortune presented me the lucky win ning. No. 58 five , pounds , of dried appricots. I "then turned my attention to the ladies' fancy, work booth and made liberal inquiries (through the courtesy of Mrs. Bell, I believe) as to the value and disposition of certain articles. This was exactly 8:60 and I left for the German village, where I seated myself at the piano, and played a few tinkling sounds; "I Am Waiting for You." 1 stayed perhaps fifteen minutes and then viewed, the furniture exhibit on the first floor. I also grouped myself with the male quartet at one time during the evening and gave them my generous assistance. I departed at exactly 9:J0. Tonight I will again appear in the same attire at 8:30 and my manoeuv- ers will b precisely the same as those of last night. I will " be everywhere. Remember my conditions. Have copies of both daily papers in your posses sion and approach me saying, "You are the mysterious Mr; .Raffles of the Elk's bazaar. Follow my description and my cap ture is easy, perhaps a matter of onyl a night or two. Can you do it? Try. Yours truly, RAFFLES.
