The reply of President "Wilson to Germany ta heartily approved by Governor Ipodrich and the State Council of De fense. The Council adopted a resolu tion presented by Georg-e Ads, of Etxook. after Mr. Ade .had consulted 1th the Governor. "With the hearty approval and the unqualified endorsement of Governor James P. Goodrich," the resolution reads, "the Indiana State Council of Defense says to the people (of Indiana that, until the war Is brought to a suooessful conclusion, there con be no division of sentiment regarding the plain duties ahead of us. The State Council backs up President Wilson's messase of October li. In reply to Germany peaoa proffer. "It is the evident will of our people that we shall not discuss terms of compromise with violent cr?m!nals who are still intent on crime. We ask the people of Indiana to be truided in their Judgements at this time by the opinions of our trusted soldiers who are at close quarters with the enemy, by the unanimous expressions of our beat military experts and by the delib erate pronouncements of our most pru dent statesmen. The resolution closes with an ap peal to all county councils and com munity councils to support the Liberty Loan with the utmost zeal and con t'nue all other war activities with hard and earnest persistence. f. E. Foley, chairman of the State Council of Defense, received a tele gram from Fraklin K. Lane, secretary of the interior, urging; that state and county councils continue all war activ ities with unabated zeal despite the German peace offers.
