for Eidie O'Donnell. were Killed yes
terday when Chevrolet's and O'Don
nell'o machines crashed together on
the Los Angeles Speedway at the east
end of the grand stand near th close
of a 250-mSle rac.
Chevrolet's standing- in the race at
the time he was kill had won for
him the national automobile racing
championship for 1?20 on a roir.t basis.
O'Dor.r.oll was so seriously injured
that it was at first reported he was
killed. Ilia Ekull was fractured and
both arms broken, and little hope wa.i
held that he could recover.
John Bresnahan, Chevrolet's me
chanician, was seriously Injured.
O'Donnell's car struck the fenca on
the east turn and bounded down the
Incline, colliding with a car driven by
Oaston Chevrolet.

champion of the world .knocked out

yesterday afternoon.
