Weekend Rates Will be Made Description. (By Staff Correspondent.) New Paris, Ohio., July 29. Unless one had visited the site a year ago, when the weed sgrew profusely over the entire place and the underbrush obliterated all traces of beauty in the landscape, one could hardly appreci ate the changes that have been made in erecting the Cedar Springs Hotel, at Cedar Springs, southwest of here. The broad terrace, beautiful, smooth, even lawns, and the harmonious ar rangement of everything form beauti ful picture. At the interurban tracks a small station of unique architec ture has been erected, and leading from this to the hotel, a distance of eight hundred feet, is a wide cement walk, with electric lights strung along which when lighted in the evening, form a pretty vista. The hotel, a long two story struc ture, about four hundred feet long and one hundred feet wide, is painted a light drab color, which harmonizes very well with the background of woods. In front of the hotel are two rather roughly defined ten-aces, the one on the right sweeping clear to the interurban tracks. Cro liquet sets are handv and the crounuet grounds, on the first terrace, are very popular. The hotel is a fine building, inside and out, and equipped with all modern conveniences, electric lights, up to date plumbing and all other appli ances conducive to comfort. The register list has not quite a full number of names on at present, but it is expected that the number of vis itors will be rather light this year. One reason for this is that there are yet many things to be constructed. A large, roomy, building to the left of the hotel is being fitted up in a mod ern way for a bowling alley, and will besides contain other athletic devices. The number of structures that are in process of building is large. Many of the smaller buildings that will adorn the grounds are not finihed yet, and it probably will be late this fall before the springs hotel and buildings are all completed, and next year be fore the place can call itself a modern summer resort. A large swimming pool, with hot and cold water, is being erected on the hill to the right. The building is practically completed outside and the plumging will be begun soon. This feature will even up for the lack of a lake or other swimming place. To the right the floor of a large building was laid today. This will be the Turkish Bati, house and promises to be the featu of the entire resort. The house will be divided into several compartments and everything condu cive to the comfort of the patrons will be installed. The tennis court in front of the ho tel, has cost nearly a thousand dol lars as the work of turning the field, naturally poor, into a smooth level ground, for tennis playing, has tak en a great deal of time and money. This court will add a great deal to the popularity of the resort when it is finished. The social life of the hotel will be especially fine. Weekly dances will be given on Friday nights, and the few given so far have proved very popular. Cedar Springs will prove beyond a doubt, to be one of the finest places to spend the week and in this part of the country. Special week end rates will be made and will be taken ad vantage of by many.
