The Charley Bowen left yesterrlny
noon with ft good trip of passencrers, bnt
not a great deal of freight. The right
blockade at Paducah and otiher points
materially interferes with shipments.
By the following dispatch which we
find in the Cincinnati Gazette of yes
terday, we learn that another fine rise
has occurred at-Pittsbnr. Prom ap
pearances, it is not unlikely that many
of the "Broadhorns" will make their es
cape from Pittsburg on the present
rise :
Pittsburg, Dec. 20. The river at
this point has risen nearly five feet during-
the twentv-four hours ending this
evening, at which time the pier marks
indicated almost ten feet Both gorges
in the Allegheny river gave way yester
day morning, and that stream, at the
present writing, is full of floating ice.
There is now water enough to let out the
coal tugs again, and it is not improbable
that some more broadhorns may get off.
The Paragon from Cincinnati 'and the
Savaunah from Louisville, arrived to
day. The Reserve and Arizona were
both ready to leave for your city thia
evening, but they would hardly get off,
owing to the river being full of ice.
The big Atlantic will be at our land
ing to-day with her shingle out for New
Orleans. She is one of the finest steam
ers afloat, and is under the care of pru
dent, courageous and accommodating
officers just the kind of men to take
the boat safely through in spite of gucr
rillas or sawyers.
The Nannie Byer3 will be here to
morrow for Cincinnati and Pittsburg.
The Tempest will be here this morn
ing for Nashville.
The Princess and Ladohia are both
due here this morning from Nashville
for Cincinnati and points up the river.
The new and magnificent Superior
will step into the Louisville and Cairo
trade to-day, under the care of the
veteran Captain Dexter, with Mr. Wil
liam Durrrrm the dfficr.
We are certain no news will givehe
travelling community more satisfaction
than this announcement.
The Superior has beeu thoroughly
renovated, repaired, refitted and other
wise improved, and her accommodations
will be excelled by none, and equaled by
few boats on the lower Ohio. We trust
the Superior will start off with a cabin
full of passengers, and her decks crowd
ed with freight.
Capt. Lancaster of Vincennes is
going into the Wabash trade extensively.
He has purchased the interest of -Mr.
Isaac Parsons in the steamer Advance,
which is to run regularly hereafter be
tween iticennes and lerre Haute. He
has also bought the steamer Patrick
Henry, which he designs running be
tween Vincennes and Gravrille.

require every Boat r celving freight at this laudiug
to exhibit a complete manliest of (he cargo on
board, and upon that to obtain a Clearance at thia
ofHce, before leaving port.
The Regulations further provide. Article 40;
"AH vessels, boats, and other vehicles , used for
transportation, vioUtlng Regulations or Local
Rules, will be forfeited to the United States. "
The undersigned will hereafter rigidly enforce
these Regulations In all cases.
