In another column will be fonnd Ordinance No. 77 regulating the water works. Every consumer of water and all who expect to become consumers should not only read it carefully bat keep it for reference. Familiarity with its contents will probably save you trouble and un necessary expense. The rates for the use of water and the regulations gov erning same can be found in full in the ordinance. It has taken considerable outlay of money to secure good water and put the system in condition to distribute the water to consumers, and the rates fixed by the council under all the cir cumstances are very reasonable. W. F. Olt has made arrangements to start a packing house in Lamar. He believes that a good business in that line can be built up here, and he will start in on a limited scale, in creasing as he works up a trade for his product He has had a large ex perience in the business, and the new industry will be of great benefit to both the consumers and producers of Prowers county.
