Demand Better than Supply on this Market-Prices Firm on ail Good Cattle. Denver Union Stock Yards, June 25.—The supply of beef cattle was light last week and packers bought ev erything flt for the block at good strong prices. About 14,000 head of cattle ar rived, but as usual at this time of the year, a good many were southerns go ing through. Average quality of the offerings was good and trade was brisk from start to finish. Some choice corn fed steers sold at 05.00, the high price, with others at |4.90 and anything in the killing line showing quality brought better than $4.40. Packers still prefer the light Weight steers but heavy kinds are also selling to good advantage. Cow supply was very light and nothing good here- Best brought 13.80, quality I just fair, but few were good enough to I land above $3.65. A bunch of choice i cows this morning sold at (4.00. Com mon cows continue in light demand and dull. Good bulls rule about steady but rough grades weak. Veals are a little higher, tops today bringing (5.50. There was some country demand for feeders and stockera last week, but buyers wanted the good ones and com mon steers attracted very little atten tion. One bunch sold at $3.60 the high price of the week, but it took pretty good ones to bring this figure. Prices ranged largely from $3.00 to $3.60 on the sales made. Good Steen were called about steady but common kinds weak. Eastern markets report a very light demand for feeders and stockera and prices about a quarter lower for the week. Our market here is in first class con dition and prices comparatively higher than those paid at eastern points. In dications are that the strong demand for good cattle will continue for some time, as there is a temporary shortage of jood beef in the territory tributary to Denver. Liberal shipments are , wanted. W. N. Fulton. Joe Evanson, a former Delta boy, is visiting here.
