At a recent meeting of the junior class of the High ^school a'nlottan was made to entertain the seniors this year with a banquet instead of a junior ball as in former years. An exact date has not been set for the banquet. Mackenzie farm in town of Liberty. John G. Morrison, Jr., of Red Lake was in the city Thursday. He came from Cass Lake where he had at tended the convention of the Minne sota Chippeway Indians. Mr. Mor rison has been appointed permanent interpreter and temporary secretary of the Chippeways. All next week, Troppman's remant sale will continue.Adv. J. D. Plummer of Moose Jaw, Canada, is the guest of his brother John Plummer of this city. Mr Plummer was formerly operator of the Bemidji steam laundry and is now operating a laundry at Moose Jaw. He is on his way home from a winter trip to Florida. Joe Anderson will leave this city tonight for McCloud, California, where he will enter the services of the McCloud Lumber company. .He will visit friends and relatives in Minneapolis a few days en route. In McCloud he will be associated with F. A. Lambert, formerly of Bemidji. Skating until 11:30 tonight after the ball game. Positively no danc ing.Adv. Victor Magnuson of Willmar, Min nesota, died at the St. Anthony's hospital Thursday evening at six o'clock. Death was due to pneu monia and he had been at the hos pital only since Saturday. His sis ter arrived from Duluth Wednesday morning and his brother arrived from Deer River Thursday. The re mains were taken to Willmar Friday evening. Those who had the pleasure of seeing "Colleen Bawn" and "Arrah Na- Pogue" at the Majestic some time ago will not want to miss see ing "The Kerry Oow", next Monday and Tuesday. This is a great three reel production and produced in Ire land.Adv. Grand Rapids Herald Review: Bishop Morrison of Duluth, head of, this Episcopal diocese, who has just returned from a tour of the north country, reports that the Indians are conducting their affairs very like re spectable white men and have good homes, farms, and other things that make for material well being. Wealth is coining to many of them, and with wealth, education and refine ment. The new spring goods in silks, new weave in wool and silks and hun dreds of new fabrics and new pat terns in work material are now shown at the Berman Emporium. Adv. After the business meeting last evening the order of the Eastern Star had a social meeting. The fol lowing program was rendered: Vocal solo, Miss Marjorie Knappen reci tation. Miss Vera Backus quartette, Messrs Thompson, Robinson, Jacob son and Young piano solo, Miss Ruth Wight-man. After the, program the evening was spent in dancing and playing cards. A lunch was served during the evening. About seventy-five were in attendance. Many hace chosen their new spring suits, new sprang coats, and new dresses from the latest beauti ful styles that have been received this week at the Berman Emporium. Adv. Kenm&re Journal: George K. Holmes* chief of division in the ag ricultural department, says the Amer ican Women are laay, and he even dares to point the accusing finger at our farmers' wives. From the way George K. talks we judge that he never was the mother of ten child ren and made butter at the same time. Nor did he ever break a set ting hen or shoo the rooster and his family out of the garden. Nor was he ever a president of a ladles' aid, or got the kids ready for school. Nor did he ever doll Daisy up for the dance or give pa a tongue lashing when he tracked mud over the kitchen floor. Troppman's- remant sale will con tinue next week. Mr. Troppman says it has been a success and others may wish to take advantage of it. Adv. Another masquerade is being planned by the management of the] rolleir rink. ThV will make the third masquerade given in a month. It has not been decided as yet whether the coming masquerade will be a mask dance or roller skate but definite arrangements will be an nounced, later.
