As the work of recruiting in this section of the state progresses, it is apparent that most of the volunteers must be secured from outlying dis tricts, tributary^ to Bemidji. This costs money. The government does not provide for the defraying of travr eling expenses for recruiting officers. This must be paid by local patriotic citizen*. The above.
