Be sit resolved by the City Council of the City of Bemldji, "That the proper city officers be, and are, hereby author ized and directed to draw a warrant in the sum of One Hundred and Fifty ?150.O0 dollars, payable from the Gen eral fund in favor of C. That Section 6 of General Ordinance No. 45 be, and the same here by is, amended as follows: For the benefits derived from fire protection by all tax payers in the city, the city shall pay from the Gen eral Fund into the Water Fund the sum of Seventy-flve (?75.00) dollars per year for each fire hydrant in service. A the beginning of each quarter the Water Clerk shall make out a bill to the city for one-fourth of the total amount of the hydrant rentals as based on the number of hydrants then in service, and the city clerk shall issue his warrant on the treasurer in the same manner as the payment of all other bills, which warrant shall be credited to the Water Fund by the Clerk of the Water Works Board the sa me as cash received. y drant rentals shall be payable quarterly In advance. IAt a regular meeting r1_,lt SATURDAY EVENING, AUGUST 30, 1919 THE BEMIDJI DAILY PIONEER I ,II I i credited to the Sinking Fund of the city, together with the interest and revenue therefrom, computed to the time of maturity of all outstanding city bonds, is sufficient to pay all or said bonds and indebtedness, Be it Resolved, Therefore, _by the City Council of the City of Bemldji, that the sum of twenty hundred ?2000.00. dollars now being in the sinking fund in the city treasury be, and the same is hereby transferred to the credit of the permanent Improve ment fund of the city, and for, the pur pose of making such transfer, the prop er city officers are hereby authorized and directed to draw warrants payable to the city treasurer as treasurer of the Permanent Improvement Fund for the credit of the permanent' improvement fund of the city,-from the sinking fund of the city. Municipal court report for week end ing August 4th, showi ng $153.30 paid the city treasuremuid report for we ek ending August 18th, showing $77.00 paid-the qity treasurer, was read and accepted. City engineer's estimate of $5,882.60 for cost of paving three blocks on Cen tral Ave., 5th ward, was read and order ed filed. It was moved by Alderman Joanis that the street commissioner be authorized to have the three blocks from 1st street going south on Cent ral Avenue, cindered, using cinders to be obtained from the M. & I. Ry. Car ried. City clerk's report for the quarter ending July 1st, 1919, also for the peri od ending Aug. 12th. 1919,- was read and accepted, same being* .referred to. the finance committee.- Petition of property owners- resident in the. Moved by Alderman-Jones, seconded by Palmer, that the action taken at the previous -meeting, denying the request of the school board for permit to move a certain school building across the new bridge between Lakes Irvine and Beniidji# be rescinded. Carried. Upon motion of Alderman Jones, sec onded by Backus, the. school board was granted permission to move a. certain school building from the Lincoln school, Nymore, to the Bemidji school farm, Bemidji, upon furnishing a satis factory bond that the building will be moved across the bridge between Lakes Irvine and Bemidji, between the hours of 12 o'clock A. M. and 3 o'clock A. M. The city attorney to. set the amount of bond required.. Upon motion of Alderman Palmer, seconded byanJoanis, "the chief of police, truck drivers -wer exanted an increase, of. $10.00. per month salary .'beginning-: August ist, 1919.
