So convincing is the pictue that it
is not exaggeration to remark that
the audience lives through the scenes
portrayed the vivid, colorful life of
Venice, the Italian who forgot bis
wife, became a gambler in New York
and married a hardened creature the
forlorn little woman who blazed her
way to success, and eventually found
happiness.
The story is from the pen of the
well-known novelist and short-s,tory
writer, Donn Byron, and has the

SPLENDID PRODUCTION
A photoplay that maintains an ele
ment ofrmyst^ry. throughout the en
tire production^and one that holds
the spectator- -in suspense, will be
shown tonight and Saturday at the
Grand theater. It presents Antonio
Moreno in a role to which he is ex
ceptionally well suited. His hand
some features and' fiery Latin tem
perament blend well with the story
of London and the highlands of Scot
land.
There, are many thrilling incidents
in the story and the action moves
rapidly through a series of startling
events and includes such incidents as
the finding of a murdered man, the
discovery of a counterfeiters' den,
arid a buried treasure in the hills of
Scotland, placed there by James III,
Jking of Scotland. His opening scenes
arc exceptionally picturesque. They
take place in a Chinese restaurant in
London in which the Oriental at
mosphere ia well maintained. A Mon
.golian orchestra of six pieces and a
magician entertain the guests and
interest the spectators as well.
Great credit is due Director Ches
ter Bennett fcr the English.effect he

The cast is composed of many well
known players, each selected because
of his or her particular fitness for the
role. Lilliart Hall plays opposite Mo
reno and does' an exceptionally fine
bit of acting. Especially good are her
scenes in the lonely farm house where
she is held a prisoner.

According to qreclan mythology,
Tantalus was a1

agree in stating that he was a wealthy

In ancient trudltious for the terrible

the secrets intrusted to him by Zeus,
and was punished in the lower world
by being indicted with a raging thirst,
