Adirondacks, William Reyell of Red
foi'd may lose the sight of an eye.
Entenng his barn at night without
a light he was, struck by a huge bird.

He seized it by the leg and attempted
to drag it down. The bad fought
furiously beating him with its power
ful wings and pecking at his head
and face. A blow in the eye blinded
him and he fell to the floor. He was
taken to a Plattsburg hospital.
Investigation showed the bird to be
a great blue heron, the largest and
strongest bird in the Adirondacks,
which had evidently taken up winter
quarters in the bain.
